quick help against heat stress
|

High temperatures during summertime cause heat stress. Animals are as sensitive against this phenomena as humans.
As they can not sweat their only way to cool down at least a bit is heckling.
Especially small animals like cats or dogs are effected by high tempeartures when they walk around outside the house.
A very simple and effective way to help them during this time is to rub them with a towel that is drenched with frigid water.
Not to cold of course !
The water will evaporate very quick from their fur thus helping the animal to cool down a bit.
You might also try to spray the animal with water directly if it is used to and likes it,
but many dogs and especialy cats are not realy enthusiastic about this kind of treatment.
In my experience the way with the wet towel works so good,
that very soon most animals come to you to demand their next refreshment themself.
